Donations
All donations to Burton HOPE are greatly appreciated. We are dependent on donations from the community to continue to provide support to those who need it the most. Please see the drop down menu to find out more details about donating food, clothing, and money.
Donation Options
Food
As we are a food bank, we are reliant on food donations from the public. Please see the dropdown menu to find out what we are in need of.
Clothing
We also give out clothing items to those who need them the most. In winter months, wearing a jumper instead of turning on the heating can make all the difference for our service users, your help is greatly appreciated.
Money
As food donations decrease due to the cost of living crisis, we are finding ourselves having to spend more to keep up with demand. Your cash donations help to buy essential food items, obtain documents for our service users, and crucially help us pay our rent for our premises, Crossley House.
Time!
If you would like to donate your time and volunteer with us, we are constantly looking for new faces! Visit the volunteer page to find out more.
About Your Donations, Where & How They are used
Every penny, tin of beans, pair of socks, donated to us goes towards helping those most in need in Burton-on-Trent. Those in need of food receive emergency 3-day food parcels which are made up of your donations. In the winter months, your clothing donations go towards keeping the most vulnerable warm, and saving vital money on gas bills. Monetary donations keep Burton HOPE ticking, we have to pay our rent, top up our shelves, pay for essential volunteer training and much more. Your support goes a long way.
Are my cash donations supported by gift aid?
We are currently in the process of applying to be recognised by HMRC to receive Gift Aid on monetary donations. So, at the moment, we are not supported by Gift Aid.
What sort of food donations do you require?
Please see our “Food” page where we list items we are in need of.
