Burton Support Centre

Burton Support Centre covers all of our support services including, support the homeless find accommodation, life coaching, and sourcing I.D.

Hope4Support

Hope4Support can offer many services including general Social Prescribing which allows us to offer our service users referrals for the services they need.

We offer general advice and referrals for many different services.

We offer advice on mental health and addiction. We can assist with early intervention through coaching to help our service users make informed decisions in life in order to help evaluate problems and allow them to be tackled in order of priority.

As part of our coaching, many of our service users are referred for budgeting advice. It is always on offer and is referred to professional organisations.

Good employment is not always easy to find. We work with our service users and with various organisations to try to remove obstacles to employment. We have a record of supporting people into employment.

We regularly give assistance with GP registration and emergency dental care, advice on benefits and letters of support.

Housing is in short supply in Burton. We have many people on waiting lists. We can write letters of support if there are extenuating circumstances. We also have some poor housing and we get more requests for help every year. ESBC Environmental Health deal with poor housing so we pass it on to them

We also offer showers through the kindness of Everyone Active who run the Meadowside. The staff are very supportive. We can provide towels, toiletries and clean clothing.

We are a registered charity with 120 volunteers that care but we are not a statutory service.

We can offer our services which range from food, clothing and toiletries from our food bank. Tents, sleeping bags etc. ID docs if required to prove identity. Social prescribing. Advice and referrals for: employment, benefits, GP registration, mental health, addiction and referrals for services.

Hope ID

Hope ID arranges IDs for UK and foreign Nationals. Without ID it is very difficult to prove who you are. To get help from statutory services and for employment, you need to be able to prove who you are.

UK birth certificates can be arranged and ordered quickly provided we can find the person on the General Registry Office (GRO) Website. If the person has been adopted, it can be very difficult since the information required is very precise.

Lost and stolen foreign Passports are quite time-consuming and expensive. Each Nationality’s Embassy or Consulate has different requirements. The general rule is that an appointment is booked for the person to attend the country’s Embassy or Consulate. These are normally in Central London or Manchester. It is usually around 6 weeks waiting time for an appointment. We send two volunteers to accompany the person. The necessary paperwork is done, which includes handing over passport photos (each country seems to require a slightly different coloured background!), a registered post envelope, and payment. With the travel costs, it is quite an expensive operation and very time-consuming. The new passport will arrive in around 6 weeks.
